Capirotada is a Mexican bread pudding with deep roots and many variations. It’s warm, layered, and full of small choices that shape the final flavour and texture. In this Culinary Session, Brenda Hernandez-Acosta, owner of La Panaderíaand known for her work grounded in Mexican ancestral cooking traditions, will guide participants through the process and the story behind the dish.

This session is designed to be hands-on and approachable. You’ll learn how capirotada comes together, why each ingredient matters, and how to adapt it based on what you have at home. As you build your own portion, Brenda will share the cultural context and personal connections that make this dish more than dessert.

In this workshop, participants will:

  • Learn what capirotada is and where it comes from

  • Build capirotada step by step, with guidance on flavour, texture, and layering

  • Taste and learn simple ways to adapt the recipe at home

  • Leave with a take-home recipe to recreate it again
