Culinary Session at 210

The Prairie Pot: Pea Soup with Chef JB Parenteaux (Nostalgia Culinary Company)

When: Saturday, February 21 | 1:00 to 3:00 PM
Where: 210 Gallery, 210 Princess Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3B 1L4
Registration required | Open to 15 participants

Pea soup is a winter staple shaped by prairie history. It is the kind of food built for cold days, shared tables, and ingredients that keep. In this hands-on Culinary Session, Chef JB Parenteaux will guide the group through a pea soup method that is simple, steady, and full of small choices that make a big difference.

Together, you will learn how flavour is built from the start. How to develop a base, when to season, how to manage texture, and how to finish a soup so it tastes balanced and complete. You will taste as you go, ask questions, and leave with a clear approach you can repeat at home.

In this workshop, participants will:

·         Build pea soup step by step with Chef JB’s guidance

·         Learn how to layer flavour, adjust seasoning, and avoid a flat or watery finish

·         Explore texture choices and how to thicken or smooth the soup to your likin

·         Share a tasting and take home a simple recipe to recreate the soup again

What’s provided
