Internal Compass
A Solo Exhibition by Shelley Eros

Internal Compass brings together several years of work by Gunton-based artist Shelley Eros. Moving between botanical monoprints, abstract printmaking and heavily textured paintings, the exhibition reflects a creative practice guided by instinct rather than a fixed process or timeline.
Precise lines and organic forms sit alongside layered surfaces created with acrylic pours, crackle pastes, oils, metallics and interference paints. The work shifts between structure and spontaneity, allowing different materials and approaches to exist as part of the same evolving practice.
Eros’s visual language is shaped by a lifelong relationship with movement, rhythm and the natural world. Her background in music, pottery, jazz dance and flamenco, along with decades spent gardening and working with horses in rural Manitoba, informs the energy, texture and physicality of her work.
Internal Compass invites viewers to let go of the need for a straight line and consider creativity as something fluid, intuitive and shaped by lived experience.

About the Artist
Shelley Eros is a multidisciplinary artist based in Gunton, Manitoba. Her practice includes monoprinting, abstract painting and tactile, mixed-media work. Drawing from her experiences in music, dance, pottery, gardening and horsemanship, she creates work shaped by rhythm, movement, texture and an intuitive response to materials.
